Mallory Norton (Homb), CPA, is Controller at BrightInsight, where she leads core accounting, financial reporting, and controls for a fast-growing digital health platform company. A seasoned finance and accounting leader, she brings deep experience in software and technology businesses, with a track record of building scalable reporting frameworks, overseeing audits, and supporting executive teams with accurate, decision-ready financials.

At BrightInsight, Mallory is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the company’s financial statements, optimizing accounting processes, and supporting strategic initiatives with strong financial discipline as the organization scales. She leverages her background in revenue recognition, internally developed software, external and internal audits to maintain robust internal controls and support growth in a complex, regulated health technology environment.

Before joining BrightInsight, Mallory spent several years at Understory, a weather and climate technology company, where she progressed from Controller to Vice President of Finance. In those roles, she oversaw the finance function through periods of growth and evolution, leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial operations while implementing systems and processes suitable for a scaling tech business.

Earlier in her career, Mallory held multiple finance leadership positions at Sonic Foundry, including Controller, Director of Financial Reporting, Assistant Controller, and Financial Reporting Manager, and served as Controller at Cardiac Science. Across these roles, she gained extensive experience in SEC and external reporting, multi-entity consolidations, and building scalable teams.

Mallory holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and she is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Wisconsin.
