What’s your title/role at BrightInsight?

I am the Vice President of Application Engineering at BrightInsight. I lead engineering teams that develop critical external-facing applications for our customers, including mobile and web apps. These applications are primarily regulated and classified as software medical devices.

Can you share a bit of background on yourself?

I grew up in India, moving locations almost every other year. This meant attending multiple schools, living in various regions, and being exposed to multiple languages and cultures, though I could only catch up on a few languages given my short duration in each place. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from the University of Mumbai and my Master's in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.

Professionally, I have over a decade of experience in the digital health space, primarily focusing on regulated software development. Before joining BrightInsight, I worked at Amgen, where I was responsible for developing digital solutions and strategies, launching software medical devices, and leading platform implementation projects. This consistent focus on regulated digital health solutions has been a significant part of my career.

At BrightInsight, I have taken on several leadership roles, starting with architecture, then building products, leading US delivery, mobile engineering, and now application engineering. In my current role, I lead engineering teams that develop critical external-facing applications for our customers, including mobile and web apps, which are mostly regulated and in the software medical devices space.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is South Indian cuisine, especially different kinds of dosas. I also enjoy North Indian food, though I’m not very good at making it. Additionally, I have a sweet tooth and like all kinds of sweets.

Where is your favorite place on earth?

I love nature and am always interested in history, so my favorite places are those where I can appreciate both. A few years back, I did the 4-day Inca hike in Machu Picchu, which intensified my connection with nature and history. The ancient ruins and the story of the Inca civilization were incredibly fascinating.

I am passionate about healthcare, and I love collaborating with my team to build impactful solutions in this space. The sense of camaraderie and the agility we bring to our projects make our work truly rewarding.
