Employee Spotlight: Hari Prakash, Director of Engineering and competitive swimmer

What’s your role at BrightInsight?

As Director of Engineering, Webapps, my role is to create a Web Application Platform which can be used by any product/solution to build web portals. I’m also responsible for building and delivering products within BrightInsight’s Connected Diagnostics Platform.

Can you share a bit of background on yourself?

I was born and brought up in a city called Chennai in India. I finished my schooling and Bachelor of Engineering degree at Madras University in the city. I moved to Bangalore to pursue my professional career. During my two decades of experience, I have worked with various customer-centric product/start-up companies.

What is your favorite food?

Varieties of Biryani, a rice dish with Indian spices and vegetables. A recent favorite was Hyderabadi Biryani. I also love an English breakfast.

Where is your favorite place on Earth?

I love the mountains. I have traveled to several places in the Western Ghats, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its incredible biodiversity. Kashmir is another of my favorites.

Out of all the BI values, Passion to solve real world problems with technology always inspires me to push beyond my limits.

What is your favorite thing about working at BrightInsight?

It’s been an excellent opportunity to build products in the healthcare domain. Everyday is a great challenge to solve problems with passionate and very talented people in BrightInsight.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I love multiple sports. My weekend is filled with competitive matches. Swimming is my favorite.
