Very excited to share this blog! Today, LinkedIn announced its 2020 Top Startups List, and BrightInsight made the list!

LinkedIn Top Startups is an annual ranking of emerging startups to work for globally. This year, LinkedIn reviewed data from January to July 2020, in order to capture the startups that are emerging and resilient in the era of COVID-19.

LinkedIn defines a startup as a company that is independent and privately held, has 50 or more employees, is 7 years old or younger and is headquartered in the country on whose list it appears. The Top Startups methodology is fueled by a combination of LinkedIn data and an editorial reporting lens. Rather than relying on questionnaires, it measures hundreds of millions of actions generated by LinkedIn’s 171 million members in the U.S., focused on four core areas: employment growth, engagement with the company and its current employees, job interest and attraction of top talent.

Like for so many startups, the current pandemic created unprecedented challenges to our company’s potential growth, sales, financing and hiring, as well as the wellbeing and safety of all of our employees. We are proud to say that through this turbulent and uncertain time, our company has supported and grown our team, secured new top biopharma customers, raised $40M in Series B financing and expanded globally.

This recognition from LinkedIn comes quickly on the heels of celebrating our 100 employee milestone. We’ve grown our staff count by 40 percent since last year, most of that during the pandemic. This growth was made possible by our team’s successful embrace of virtual recruiting, hiring and onboarding, and our focus on company culture. Despite the fact that we are all currently remote, we have found creative and fun ways to stay connected and support our employees’ mental health.

Being named to LinkedIn’s Top 2020 Startups List is in no small part due to our employees’ resilience, agility and passion for our company’s mission to improve health outcomes by accelerating digital health innovation.
