Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.

A: I have always been fascinated with technology and how the application of technology can change the world. I started my career as a coder and loved the puzzles that software development provided. It was not just about accomplishing a task or creating a function, it was the elegance of software being able to create experiences that are delightful and power humans to do greater things.

The first chapter of my career was spent in management consulting at Accenture, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and then as a senior executive at IBM. During this time, I had the privilege of working across the globe helping organizations like AstraZeneca, Merck, Eli Lilly and others build digital strategies and implement new ways of working. In 2009, I joined a small startup, Veeva Systems, working with the co-founders, leading the global business, and driving market selection and direction as Chief Strategy Officer. Over a decade, we led digital transformation across the Life Sciences industry and today Veeva is the premier provider of cloud solutions across the value chain. After Veeva, I was recruited to Instructure as the CEO where we supported the teaching and learning needs of more than 30 million students and teachers using Canvas. Currently, I am the CEO of Tendo, a software company focused on seamlessly connecting patients, clinicians, and caregivers throughout the care cycle.

It is great to work in industries like Education, Life Sciences, and Healthcare where the impact can be felt by so many people. Outside of my fulltime job, I stay active in service of public, private, and non-profit organizations as an active advisor, investor, board member, and philanthropist. I graduated from the University of Rochester and currently reside in the Philadelphia area, but I can often be found on the Silicon Slopes of Utah or working with organizations in Silicon Valley.

Q: What excites you most about BrightInsight?

A: I believe in the power of technology and its potential to change the world. So, I am most excited about BrightInsight’s digital health platform helping to bring drugs to market faster and ensure their safety. Historically, digital health required complex customization and became outdated quickly. BrightInsight has solved these problems by talking a platform first approach resulting in solutions that are easier to create, scale, and maintain.

Q: Where is your favorite place on earth?

A: In the mountains with family. We love both the green mountains of Vermont and the majestic Rockies in the west. During the winter, this includes as much time on the slopes as possible trying to keep up with my daughters, and in the summer, biking and hiking whenever we can get away from the bustle of daily life.
